FEDERAL STATE UNITARY ENTERPRISE «CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AUTOMOBILE AND AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE INSTITUTE» OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION is:

• formation and development of an essential national economy sector — national automobile manufacturing;
• serving the interests of Russia, fundamental and applied research for plants of this branch and for related production;
• engineering development;
• testing and debugging of advanced vehicle models, enhancement of the technical basis in the field of automobile manufacturing;
• multicomponent complex antitoxic systems to meet EURO-3 and EURO-4 environmental norms;
• development of new generation vehicles running on alternative fuels, taking into account advanced environmental
• requirements;
• forecasting automobile industry development;
• participation in development of the real sector of economy based upon innovative activities, including personnel maintenance for high technologies.

In the course of Institute lifetime, its staff has made a significant contribution to the development of national automobile manufacturing, tractor construction, and engine-building for motor vehicles and aviation, and it has significantly influenced the progress of science in these fields. Today, the Institute addresses issues of national importance, performing development of the Federal program for Russian national automobile manufacturing for the period of 2010 — 2015.
